The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA)  plans to establish a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 200 MLD in Sector-107.

The Authority has prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the construction of a 100 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant in Sector-107 at an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore. The DPR is currently under review, and construction is expected to begin by May next year once approved. The project will be executed in two phases, with the first phase involving a 100 MLD capacity plant, followed by another 100 MLD plant in the second phase. The plant will treat sewage from Sectors 81 to 115 before discharging the treated water into the Yamuna River.

The plant's design will ensure that treated water flows into the stormwater drain using gravity, reducing electricity costs and eliminating the need for mechanical pumping.  As a senior GMDA official said, “This will save on electricity costs and eliminate the need for generators.” The project follows directions from the National Green Tribunal to prevent untreated sewage from being released into the river.
