Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica, the Spain based wind energy company, plans to
expand its manufacturing operations in India. The company proposes to invest
about Euro 70 million (approx Rs 434 crore) in the venture.
The company plans to expand its wind turbine facility in Chennai. Presently,
it has a capacity of 200 MW per annum, which the company plans to scale it to
over 800 MW in the next two years through a new nacelle assembly facility.
IFC is mulling over a debt support of Euro 11 million (approx Rs 68.2 crore)
for the expansion.
