Gensol Engineering is setting up electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 1,200 units per month at Chakan in Pune district of Maharashtra.
The company has accomplished major milestone in the manufacturing of EVs, as part of its Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, which is a structured process that includes critical tasks from concept approval through production and, essentially, aims at creating a product quality plan with all vendors & suppliers for developing and manufacturing products that meet customer requirements.
An important stage of APQP process is the tooling design release, which the company has been able to achieve for its envisaged EV. Completing product design is the focus of this phase and to put this into perspective, the company has been engaging with its suppliers for manufacturing all parts as per company’s designs.
Suppliers & vendors have conducted a thorough due diligence of design.
The company completed design review and verification, defined material specifications & equipment requirements, completed design failure modes & effect analysis to assess failure probabilities; and established control plans for manufacturing & the tooling requirements.
With the above outcome being achieved, the company will commence the production of the EVs as per its slated schedule in January 2023.
