The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), is all set to expedite the work of the Chennai-Bangalore industrial corridor project.
The department will soon prepare a master plan in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It has appointed JICA as a consultant to study the project.
The study will cover an area of 560 km spread across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, along the corridor between Chennai-Bangalore-Chitradurga. The cost of the study will be Yen 60 crore (Rs 37 crore approx).
The study team will also identify necessary approvals to be taken up for industrial development within the target, and prepare a Master Plan and Development Plan for at least two selected Industrial nodes, along with techno Economic feasibility study of Early Bird Projects in the two nodes.
