Unity Industries and Suruchi Foods plans to invest Rs 295 crore in Chhattisgarh to establish nutritional supplement, fortified rice, ethanol, and power plants.
The Chhattisgarh government has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with two Delhi-based companies for setting up plants.
Unity Industries has signed an agreement for ethanol extraction from maize-based cornflour and damaged rice, as well as a captive power plant.
The Unity Industries will invest approx. Rs 183 crore. The plant will have a capacity of 120,000 klpa, and the company will also build a 1.5 MW capacity.
The centre has also approved a plan to build grain-based ethanol furnaces and expand existing furnaces.
Suruchi Foods has signed an agreement to produce supplementary nutrition products and fortified rice, in which the company will invest approximately Rs 111.7 crore.
