The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved the awarding of a contract for two flyovers at Bandra's Kalanagar junction. Simplex Infrastructure will construct the first phase of the Kalanagar traffic improvement project.
In the first phase, two flyovers – one from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Bandra-Worli Sea Link and another from Bandra-Worli Sea Link to Bandra Kurla Complex – will be constructed and supported by a stilt road on government land. They will run from Dharavi to sea link. The other flyovers – one from BKC to Western Express Highway and the other from Dharavi to Western Express Highway – will be implemented in the second phase.
According to the contract, construction is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 163.8 crore, as against the reserve price of Rs 153.70 crore estimated by MMRDA.
