Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik performed the ground breaking ceremony for Shree Malani Foams’ (SMFPL) new plant. Shree Malani Foams is a part of Shree Malani Group, a manufacturer of mattresses.

The company is expanding its manufacturing facilities in Khurdha, Bhubhaneswar. The plant will come up over 18.5 acre of land and have a capacity to manufacture 6,000 tonne of polyurethane (PU) foam. The project will see an investment of Rs 55 crore. The company aims to increase its market share to 10 percent within next three years from the current five percent.

The new plant will further strengthen its market positioning as it will be able to enhance its reach across Odisha and eastern India comprising Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and other North-East states.

The project will create direct employment for around 150 people with indirect employment opportunities for 500 people.
