HARMAN, a connected automotive technologies company and a subsidiary of Samsung, announced a Rs 345 crore (USD 42 million) investment over the next three years to expand its automotive electronics manufacturing facility in Pune.
This includes an immediate investment of Rs 45 crore (USD 5.5 million). The expansion will enhance HARMAN's capacity for telematics, next-gen automotive connectivity, and advanced manufacturing. With this commitment, HARMAN’s cumulative investment in the Pune plant reaches Rs 554 crore (USD 67 million) since its inception in 2014.
The new investment will create 300 work opportunities by 2027 and increase the plant's output, including car audio components, infotainment units, and Telematics Control Units (TCUs). The facility will also manufacture 5G and 4G telematics solutions for Indian automakers like Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. HARMAN's Pune plant serves as a global hub for connected car technologies.
