The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has approved the revision of the detailed project report (DPR) for the Metro project connecting Rezang La Chowk in Palam Vihar with Dwarka Sector 21.
The decision was made during a board meeting held in Chandigarh, where officials confirmed that the project will no longer merge with the existing Rapid Metro network at Cyber City, as initially planned. Instead, the Metro line will now terminate at Cyber City, and passengers will interchange with the Rapid Metro at this station. The revised DPR will also address changes in the track width and technical parameters.
According to traffic study reports by RITES and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, ridership on the Rezang La Chowk to Palam Vihar metro line is expected to reach 200,000 by 2031, with a rise to 400,000 by 2051. Both this project and the Yashobhoomi to Iffco Chowk Metro project are currently under consideration by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
