Hewlett Packard India (HP) plans to set
up three research laboratories in India to develop innovative solutions for
emerging economies.
Of the three labs, two will come up at
Bangalore - one at the company’s software development centre and the other at the
Indian Institute of Science. The third lab will come up at the Electrical
Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai.
These research labs form part of Hewlett Packard’s
World e-Inclusion initiative announced in October 2000, through which the company
would strive to broaden its access to social and economic opportunities.
