Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a subsidiary of ADNOC Gas, for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 10-year period.
LNG deliveries will be received at HPCL’s newly commissioned Chhara LNG Terminal in Gujarat to meet the fuel needs of its refineries, city gas distribution network, and downstream marketing operations. ADNOC Gas operates across the gas value chain as a leading integrated gas processing and sales company. HPCL stated that the agreement marks a milestone in India’s energy security and its shift towards cleaner energy sources.
HPCL operates two refineries, has stakes in HMEL and MRPL, and runs an extensive marketing network with nearly 24,000 retail outlets, over 6,000 LPG distributorships, import and bottling facilities, and more than 5,000 km of pipeline infrastructure.
