Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has made an announcement regarding the state government’s approval of Rs 57.42 crore to set up a stormwater drainage system in Ambala Cantonment.
The project aims to provide lasting relief to residents in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging during the monsoon. Vij explained that the system, which already covers the Sadar area, will be expanded to other parts of Ambala Cantt. New pumping stations will be installed in areas such as Simran Vihar, Defence Colony, and BC Bazaar, while drainage channels will be upgraded and constructed.
This initiative is expected to resolve the longstanding issue of water accumulation, improving safety, cleanliness, and effective rainwater drainage in the town. The government remains committed to public welfare, and this project marks an important step in that direction.
