The Hinduja Group has committed to investing Rs 20,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh over several phases, following a meeting with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in London.
The agreement includes major investments in the energy and transport sectors. The Group plans to expand the Visakhapatnam power plant's capacity by 1,600 MW, and establish solar and wind energy projects in the Rayalaseema region. Additionally, a manufacturing plant for electric buses and light commercial vehicles will be set up in Mallavalli, Krishna district, boosting the state’s electric vehicle ecosystem.
The deal also involves creating a network of electric vehicle charging stations across the state, in collaboration with the government. This partnership highlights Andhra Pradesh’s growing prominence as a hub for renewable energy and sustainable industrial development.
