Stellantis and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles have marked 20 years of collaboration through their joint venture, Fiat India Automobiles (FIAPL), by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MoU will pave the way for exploring further opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain operations. The 50:50 joint venture, which employs nearly 5,000 people and produces 222,000 vehicles annually, has manufactured over 1.37 million vehicles since its launch. FIAPL operates a manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, Pune, producing four Jeep models and three Tata Motors passenger vehicles. The newly signed MoU aims to enhance collaboration across various sectors, building on FIAPL’s strengths in powertrain development and supply chain management.
Both companies expressed their commitment to innovation and sustainable growth in India and international markets. The Ranjangaon facility manufactures vehicles like the Jeep Compass, Tata Nexon, and exports to markets like Japan and South Africa.
