Hindustan Cleanenergy, a subsidiary of Hindustan Power Projects, has inked an MoU with the government of Punjab to set up a solar farm in the state.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 1,200 crore, will have a 150 MW capacity. The company is expected to commission the project by December 2015.
The project will be funded through the 70:30 debt-equity ratio. Further, the company will require about 750 acre for the solar farm and the project is likely to come up on the government land spanning four districts of Mohali, Patiala, Ropar and Sangrur. Once the land acquisition procedure gets completed, the company will sign a power purchase agreement.
