Hindustan Copper (HCL), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, has successfully commissioned an 800 kWp solar power plant at its Khetri Copper Complex in Rajasthan.
This initiative is part of HCL’s Clean Energy Mission, which aims to reduce its carbon footprint and transition towards more sustainable operations. The project is a significant step in HCL’s efforts to incorporate renewable energy solutions in its industrial processes. The Ministry of Mines has also emphasised the importance of promoting renewable energy to help India meet its Net Zero target by 2030.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted the importance of such projects in accelerating the country’s shift towards clean energy. The solar power plant at Khetri will contribute to HCL’s goal of using greener sources of energy while supporting India’s broader clean energy goals.
