Hughes Software Systems plans to set up dedicated
development facilities (DDF) in Gurgaon in Haryana. These DDFs would develop
software for next generation network, mobility, network management, digital
signal processes and switching. These DDFs would be set up with the help of
global technology providers such as Nokia and Armillaire Technologies of USA.
The company has already tied with
Armillaire to set up a DDF. This DDF is expected to create value for service
providers by providing next generation switching infrastructure to support more
customer applications and access requirements. This DDF would also develop
software for the switching products of Armillaire.
A state-of-the-art lab would also
be set up with a dedicated 128 kbps voice video data link to Armillaire’s
headquarters in Maryland in USA.
Armillaire has already invested $5
million (approx Rs.225 crore) in setting up the infrastructure for this
project.
