For the implementation of the Rs.6,366 crore
metrorail project (MRTS) in Hyderabad, seven international consortia formed by several
local and Indian companies have filed their EoIs along with bids for
pre-qualification. The bids were opened on 7 November 2005.
The list of consortia is as follows:
- Essar
Constructions (Mumbai), Srei (Kolkata), SembCorp, STE (Singapore) and Singapore
MRT;
- Magna Allmore (Malaysia), Siemens AG (Germany), ETA (Dubai) and NCC (Hyderabad);
- Reliance Energy (Mumbai) and Bombardier (Canada);
- Metrail (Switzerland),
Macquarie Bank (Australia and MMC (Malaysia);
- GVK (Hyderabad), Gammon India
(Mumbai), Alstom (France) and IDFC;
- Navabharat (Hyderabad), Maytas(Hyderabad),
ItalThai (ITD-Thailand) and ITD Cem (Delhi);
- IVRCL (Hyderabad), Hitachi
(Japan) and BHEL.
The MRTS system will be developed on BOT basis
and the evaluation of the bids is expected to be completed by December 2005.
