Hyundai is set to commence operations at the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Zaheerabad, Sangareddy district, with 450 acres of land allocated for its facility.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced this at a public meeting in Pastapur, pledging rapid industrial growth and development in the region. He emphasised that the NIMZ, spanning 12,500 acres, will become a major manufacturing hub and assured affected landowners, 5,612 in total, housing under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. The compensation rates for farmers have been revised after discussions.
Eestablishing a sugar industry in the region will be supported, conditional on cooperative formation by farmers, with state and Centre collaboration. The CM also promised to address water supply issues, build underpasses on highways, and secure central funding. The CM recalled industrial development during Indira Gandhi’s tenure, citing BDL and Ordnance Factory, and envisions a similar transformation for Zaheerabad and surrounding areas.
