Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), Tata Group’s largest hospitality brand, has partnered with Claridges Hotels to launch the Claridges Collection.
Under a 25-year management contract starting 01 April, 2025, IHCL will take over The Claridges New Delhi and integrate two of its properties - Connemara in Chennai and Blue Diamond in Pune, under the Claridges brand. The collection is set to expand to six properties soon and reach 20 by 2030.
IHCL’s Managing Director and CEO, Puneet Chhatwal, emphasized that Claridges will be a luxury portfolio comparable to the Taj brand. Claridges Hotels promoter Suresh Nanda stated, “We are confident that this alliance will redefine industry benchmarks, showcasing the best of both partners.” IHCL has previously acquired several properties from Suresh Nanda, including Vivanta Surajkund and the Sea Rock Hotel in Mumbai, now being redeveloped as Taj Bandstand. Nanda also built a Taj hotel in Business Bay, Dubai, for IHCL.
Looking ahead, IHCL plans to open 30 new properties in the next year, adding approx. 4,500 rooms. Under its Accelerate 2030 strategy, the company aims to expand from 375 to 700 properties by 2030 and double its consolidated revenue to Rs 15,000 crore.
