A consortium led by Indian Oil
Corporation, on 2 March 2006, won the mandate to set up a central aviation fuel
facility at the upcoming Bangalore International Airport. The Rs.90 crore order
was placed by Bangalore International Airport Ltd on the IOC-led consortium,
which also includes Indian Oil Tanking and Skytanking Holding.
The order entails design,
construction, financing and operation of the central aviation fuel facility on
BOOT basis with a concession period of 20 years.
The order was won amidst stiff
competition from consortia led by domestic petroleum marketing companies like
ONGC-Total, Bharat Petroleum Corporation-Shell, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation-Shevron
and Reliance Industries-Chevron.
