On 22 March 2007, Indian entered in to
a joint venture with Jupiter Aviation & Logistics to set up airframe MRO
(maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility in Delhi.
European EADS, which recently signed
an MoU with Jupiter Aviation to collaborate in aviation ventures, will help the
joint venture (yet-to-be-named) find a third partner who will will undertake
airframe maintenance and repair of Airbus aircraft of Indian and will later
extend the facility of Airbus aircraft of other airlines and also to aircraft
other than the Airbus family.
The facility will entail an investment
of around Rs.300 crore, will cater to around 300 aircrafts per annum. Work on
the project is scheduled for completion within two years.
