IndianOil-Petronas, a JV of Indian Oil Corporation and Petronas of Malaysia has commissioned its second LPG terminal at Ennore in Chennai district of Tamil Nadu.
IndianOil-Petronas has sets up terminal with an investment of Rs 546 crore. The LNG terminal has an installed capacity of 600,000 tpa and can be expanded to 1.2 million tpa. The JV, earlier in 2001, has set up its first such LPG terminal in Haldia, West Bengal. With the commissioning of the second terminal in Ennore, it is likely to meet the requirements of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the JV company is planning to provide LPG cylinders and bottling services for PSU oil marketing companies on BOOT or BOO basis from Europe too. Also, IndianOil-Petronas is planning to increase the volume of technical services like road tanker purging and bulk LPG reticulation facilities for industrial customers.
