Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 08 December, 2023 inaugurated the second Global Investors Summit in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. MoUs worth more than Rs 44,0000 crore were signed, mainly for investment in electric vehicles (EVs), real estate, healthcare, film, AYUSH and energy, as well as higher education and tourism sectors.
Investment proposals worth more than Rs 3.5 lakh crore have been received at the two-day summit. Of this, investment worth Rs 44,000 crore have been realised.
Dehradun and Pantnagar airport extension projects will strengthen air connectivity to the state, and heli-taxi services are being expanded, as well as rail connectivity is being reinforced, the PM further emphasised. This is expected to create opportunities in storage, logistics, tourism, and hospitality, among others.
