JBT Marel, a global leader in food processing technology, has inaugurated its global production centre (GPC) in Vadgaon, Pune, marking a significant step in its commitment to India, and Asia-Pacific markets.

The state-of-the-art facility, located at Vivan Kohli Industrial Estate on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, is aimed at enhancing production capacity and delivering sustainable, efficient food processing solutions. Inaugurated by JBT Marel executives including CEO Brian Deck and EVP Augusto Rizzolo, the GPC will serve as a hub for innovation, catering to the growing demand for packaged and ready-to-eat foods in India and beyond.

With India’s food processing industry contributing 12 percent to manufacturing GDP and employing over eight million people, the new facility aligns with national initiatives like Make in India and the PLI Scheme. JBT Marel’s Pune centre is also positioned as an export base, strengthening the company’s regional footprint while driving food technology excellence across South Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
