Eastern Coalfields (ECL) has declared JMS Mining as the lowest bidder (L1) for a continuous miner deployment contract at Bansra Colliery, West Bengal.
The order aims to enhance coal production by introducing continuous miner technology with backfilling. The plan involves extracting the R-VII (Kunustoria) seam using two low height continuous miners (LHCMs) to achieve a production capacity of 0.54 million tonne per year under a mine developer cum operator (MDO) model. The bid value is Rs 2,463.4 crore.
The contract underscores ECL’s strategy to modernize underground mining operations with advanced technology, ensuring higher safety and efficiency.
