Jakson Green, through its subsidiary JGRJ Three Solar, has signed its first wind power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for a 100 MW project. The 25- year agreement, under GUVNL’s Wind Tender Phase VIII, is priced at Rs 3.59 per unit.
The Gujarat-based wind power project is expected to generate over 300,000,000 kWh annually, offsetting approx. 2,50,000 tonne of CO2 emissions each year. In a company statement, Jakson Green highlighted this milestone as a significant step in its expansion from solar and hybrid energy into utility-scale wind power.
“Our first wind power PPA with GUVNL marks our entry into utility-scale wind energy... underscoring our commitment to diversifying our green energy solutions,” said Kannan Krishnan, Managing Director of Jakson Green. Krishnan Rajagopalan, Head - IPP, emphasized India's estimated wind potential of over 695 GW, calling it a viable path to a sustainable energy future, particularly in wind-rich states like Gujarat. The project is expected to become operational within 24 months.
