Jindal (India), a part of the BC Jindal Group and a key downstream steel products manufacturer, has announced its entry into the steel section pipes and tubes market with a Rs 100 crore investment at its advanced manufacturing centre in West Bengal. The expansion marks a strategic diversification, aiming to capitalise on rising domestic and export demand for steel tubes across multiple sectors.
The company targets a monthly production capacity of 5,000 tonne (MT) for section pipes and tubes, which is projected to generate Rs 315 crore in sales revenue by FY26. This capacity enhancement is expected to deepen the company’s presence in current markets while extending its footprint to newer regions across India. The product range from this segment will serve sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, railways, warehousing, and residential housing.
In recent years, the company has expanded operations into the northern and western parts of the country, where contributions currently account for 15 percent of revenue. The firm now plans to increase this share through strategic market penetration and production growth. With two factories located in Howrah, West Bengal, Jindal (India) boasts capabilities in advanced colour coating, galvanizing, and galvalume technologies.
