Jindal (India), part of the BC Jindal Group, has ramped up its manufacturing capacity for colour-coated steel sheets and begun supplying, aiming to enhance its service to India’s burgeoning white goods sector.
This expansion is expected to boost the company's revenue by 20 percent in the current financial year. The new capacity will supply premium steel sheets to OEM partners serving major brands like LG, Whirlpool, and Godrej, for products such as washing machines and air conditioners. The company’s colour-coated steel sheets now represent about 70 percent of its total sales, with expectations to rise to 75 percent by FY26.
Recently, Jindal commissioned 0.6 million MT of additional capacity at its facilities in West Bengal, a move which will increase output by 60 percent. The Rs 1,500 crore investment is expected to yield a significant sales revenue boost, particularly as the consumer durables industry in India experiences robust growth, supported by government initiatives like the PLI scheme.
