Juniper Green Energy (JGE) has entered into an agreement with Envision Energy India to procure 200 of its five MW wind turbine platforms and a 320 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
The wind turbines, designed with a 182-mtrs. rotor diameter and 140-mtrs. hub height, optimise annual energy production by over 40 percent compared to the previous 3.3 MW models, requiring fewer land parcels and easing land acquisition challenges. These turbines will be utilised for projects secured through state and central auctions.
The BESS solution will be deployed for Juniper's firm dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project, awarded by SJVN in its inaugural FDRE auction. Envision's storage system features advanced lithium-ion 315Ah cells integrated with an AIoT-based energy management system, ensuring high safety, performance, and lifecycle efficiency.
Envision will also provide comprehensive operational support for the lifecycle of the equipment. In addition, Juniper recently partnered with first solar to procure one GW of advanced Series 7 FT1 cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin-film photovoltaic modules. The company has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with major entities like SJVN, GUVNL, and NTPC, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio in India.
