The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has invited tenders for a major water supply contract to cater to the growing needs of industries around Bengaluru, particularly in semiconductor and manufacturing sectors that demand high volumes of water.
The Rs 2,000 crore work will be executed through six engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) packages, with contractors responsible for design, procurement, and construction. It will draw water from the Cauvery and Yettinahole projects and is expected to be completed within three years.
Covering 18 established and upcoming industrial areas in Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, and Chikkaballapur, the project aims to meet an estimated demand of 196 MLD (million litres per day).
