The Kerala government has decided to expedite the Rs 636.5-crore distillery project by Oasis Commercial in Vengodi, Palakkad.
In a recent meeting, the Kerala State Single Window Clearance Board (KSSWCB) directed various departments to complete pending formalities. The local-level monitoring committee in Palakkad had already granted approval, and now the matter was awaiting review by the state-level monitoring committee (SLMC). Officials have been instructed to expedite the process and ensure the state-level clearance is issued promptly. This includes clearing the conversion of 5.89 acres of paddy land for a rainwater-harvesting reservoir and resolving issues with land-ceiling exemption and building permits.
KSSWCB aims to streamline coordination among departments and ensure the project progresses without unnecessary delays. The project, spread over 23.93 acres, aims to create jobs and focus on sustainable water usage, relying on rainwater harvesting.
