The Kerala Government has decided to sell 49 per cent stake in the proposed
Kannur airport in Kerala, in order to fast-track work.
The state government is expected to retain the 51 per cent stake in the
public sector. The state government is to hold 26 per cent of the equity
directly, 23 per cent will be set apart for public sector undertakings, and two
per cent for the company promoted for the purpose by the government.
A total of 2,200 acre is likely to be acquired for the airport on fast-track
mode.
