Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS), a labour cooperative based in Kerala, is planning to expand its footprint beyond the state by entering new infrastructure sectors such as railways, airports, ports, and tunnels.

Known for its expertise in highway and government-backed infrastructure projects, ULCCS is actively seeking prequalification for airport, port, and tunnel projects and is in talks with potential partners for collaboration. Arun Baboo, Chief Operating Officer of ULCCS, said, “We are also looking for like-minded partners for collaboration to improve the efficiency while executing.”

The cooperative also plans to explore newer product lines like prefabricated building components, mechanised construction, and scaffolding systems to scale operations across India. ULCCS, which s increasingly integrating AI-assisted construction and automation, recently launched U-Sphere to promote sustainable and tech-driven construction practices.

Founded in 1925, ULCCS is entirely owned and managed by workers. It primarily funds its projects through ongoing construction revenues and institutional loans, including support from NABARD-like bodies.
