Kinet Railway Solutions has entered into a partnership with Tube Investments of India (TI India), part of the Murugappa Group, for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train project.

Under this collaboration, TI India will supply coach carbodies, playing a crucial role in the development of the sleeper variant of India’s domestically-built semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains. The initiative aligns with the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, promoting self-reliance by accelerating indigenous production.

TI India brings significant expertise in structural fabrication and precision steel forming to the partnership, contributing to the Indian Railways’ broader modernization goals. The Vande Bharat programme is central to these efforts, aimed at transforming long-distance rail travel by enhancing passenger comfort and service quality. The sleeper train variant will expand the operational scope of the Vande Bharat fleet, enabling broader route coverage and increased onboard convenience.

CEO of Urban Infra Group, Mamta Shah, hailed the partnership as a significant milestone in building a self-reliant rail ecosystem in India. The collaboration is expected to boost efficiency, safety, and manufacturing quality across the railway sector, reinforcing India's growing domestic capabilities in high-speed rail infrastructure.
