Kothari Industrial Corporation (KICL) has got a fresh lease of life with the induction of a new promoter J. Rafiq Ahmed who has unveiled plans, wherein focus would be on core sectors such as fertilisers, footwear, synthetic textiles, food sector, and others.
Major projects in these areas are set for completion within the next two years. The overall investment will be around Rs 16,000 crore.
Meanwhile, with the setting up of a footwear components park in Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, where Crocs and Fila have been roped in and more footwear brands are also set to join hands with Phoenix Kothari Footwear. Additionally, plans are afoot to set up a drone training centre in Madurai and this would be followed by the manufacture of drones.
Besides, KICL is exploring the setting up of a 1.2 million tonne fertiliser plant in Qatar.
