Lenskart, one of India’s leading eyewear retailers, has announced a strategic investment in Ajna Lens, a Mumbai-based deep-tech startup specialising in AI-powered extended reality (XR) glasses. The collaboration is set to enhance Lenskart’s smart eyewear capabilities, following the launch of its Phonic audio glasses in December 2024.
While the investment amount has not been disclosed, Lenskart plans to integrate its design and engineering strengths with Ajna’s cutting-edge XR technology to develop smart glasses that appeal to a broader customer base. This partnership reflects Lenskart’s growing commitment to wearable tech innovation and signals a significant expansion in its smart glasses portfolio.
“This investment marks the next chapter in our Smart Glass journey, which began with the launch of Phonic, our audio glasses, in December 2024,” said Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Lenskart. Lenskart currently operates in 14 countries through an omnichannel model, leveraging consumer insights for product development.
With this move, the company aims to redefine the wearable tech segment by creating next-generation smart eyewear that blends fashion, function, and emerging technology.
