The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has initiated plans to establish a state-of-the-art convention centre near Nagpur, in collaboration with Fira Barcelona International from Spain.
The facility will occupy around 100 acres and will serve as a premier venue for exhibitions, trade shows, and cultural events. Recently, an MoU for the project was signed in Mumbai, in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The convention centre will showcase Nagpur's rich heritage, integrating local history into its design. However, due to space constraints at MIHAN, the centre will be located outside its nonSEZ area.
MADC is now in the process of identifying suitable land parcels near the city, with a focus on seamless transport connectivity. The project aims to combine modern architecture, eco-friendly construction, and technological advancements to become a major cultural hub in the region.
