Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO), has proposed to set up four solar power parks under PPP framework with partial funding by Asian Development Bank (ADB) across Maharashtra.
The corporation plans to set up a solar park at Sakri with 100 MW capacity; at Dholara near Maharashtra with 50 MW capacity; at Gangakhed with 125 MW capacity; and at Yavatmal with 75 MW capacity.
The Sakri solar park will require 170 ha, and this unused barren government land is currently in the possession of MAHAGENCO. The Dholara park requires 87 ha; Yavatmal Solar Park will require approximately 190 ha. For the construction of the Gangakhed solar park, MAHAGENCO will acquire 200 ha. The company will be responsible for land acquisition.
