At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Maharashtra government signed 54 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 15.7 lakh crore. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Industries Minister Uday Samant, led the delegation.
Key deals include a Rs 3.05 lakh crore investment by Reliance Industries (RIL) across sectors like petrochemicals, renewable energy, and real estate, potentially creating three lakh jobs. Amazon committed Rs 71,795 crore for data centres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), promising 83,100 employment opportunities.
Further investments include Rs 42,535 crore from Vardhaan Lithium in electronics, generating work prospects for 5,000 people , and Rs 43,000 crore from Blackstone in infrastructure. Indorama will invest Rs 31,200 crore in textiles, creating 4,000 employment avenues.
L&T Defence committed Rs 10,000 crore for Talegaon, generating 2,500 employment, while Renaissance Solar pledged Rs 5,000 crore for green energy.
