Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has directed completion of 5,000 MW solar projects under the ‘Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0’ by September 2025, calling it his “dream initiative”.

Chairing a high-level review in Mumbai, he told officials to work with urgency, avoid procedural delays, and adopt strict timelines. The meeting addressed land acquisition and ancillary concerns, with key ministers, the Chief Secretary, and top officials present. CM Fadnavis stressed coordination between government bodies and private developers for projects on both government and private land. He urged swift issuance of NOCs, land leases, encroachment removal, and re-measurement for approvals.

Forest clearance for power lines and related private land must be expedited, following tree-protection norms. District task forces will monitor progress closely to strengthen rural power through decentralised renewable energy. All District Collectors and Zilla Parishad CEOs joined the meeting via video conferencing. The push is aimed at enhancing agricultural feeder reliability and boosting renewable infrastructure.
