Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has commenced
production of XYLO, a multi utility vehicle (MUV), on 9 December 2008,
at its Nashik facility in Maharashtra.
The plant's initial production
capacity will be 25,000 units, but depending on the demand the company is likely
to scale up the production in future. After the necessary road tests, the MUV
will be launched nationwide on 13 January 2009. The company plans to open
customer bookings for the XYLO on 14 January 2009.
Initially, the MUV was named as 'Ingenio'
which was later changed to the Mahindra XYLO.
