The Make in Odisha (MIO) Conclave, 2022 conducted by the Odisha government has attracted fresh investment of Rs 10.48 trillion spread across 741 proposals. The conclave was staged by the state government from 30 November 2022 to 4 December 2022 in Bhubaneswar.
Minerals and Metals sectors received most of the capex, totaling around Rs 5.49 trillion. Electricity including renewables and green-energy sectors attracted another Rs 2.38 trillion of fresh investment. This sector was followed by the Logistics and Infrastructure industries, where new investment intentions of Rs 1.19 trillion were committed.
While foreign entities like SRAM & MRAM, Intel, Oracle, Global Foundries, Jupiter Solar, Deloitte, IBM, etc. signed MoUs with large investment commitments, Indian companies who showed interest in investing in Odisha include JSW Group, Adani Ports and SEZ, Vedanta, and Essar Group.
As of 30 September 2022, the state had 4,339 projects entailing a total investment of Rs 15,89,982.97 crore. Around half of the outstanding investment was found in the Manufacturing sector.
