Maruti Suzuki India has announced an investment of Rs 4,960 crore to set up a second car manufacturing facility at Khoraj in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat.
The new plant, located 21 km from the Sanand automobile hub, will have the capacity to produce 10 lakh cars, further strengthening Maruti Suzuki’s presence in the state. The company’s Board of Directors has approved the acquisition of land from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation and associated development activities. Maruti Suzuki already operates a facility at Hansalpur, Ahmedabad, commissioned in 2017, which currently produces models like Baleno and Dzire across three production lines, with a fourth line for electric vehicles expected in FY 26-27.
Cumulative investments in the Gujarat facility, including the new line, amount to over Rs 25,000 crore. This new facility underlines its commitment to meet the growing domestic demand while strengthening Gujarat as a key hub for automotive manufacturing.
