Maruti Suzuki India has approved the acquisition of land at the Khoraj Industrial Estate in Gujarat from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) to expand its production capacity in response to growing market demand, including exports.
The company’s current production capacity is 24 lakh units per year across its facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur, with the potential to increase this to 26 lakh units. The proposed expansion at Khoraj aims to add up to one million units, with an investment of Rs 4,960 crore for land acquisition and related development.
In another strategic move, Maruti Suzuki has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) to enhance customer convenience. This partnership will see Maruti Suzuki service facilities being set up at select IOCL fuel stations, offering scheduled maintenance and minor repairs at refueling locations. As Maruti Suzuki India continues to grow, this initiative will make vehicle servicing more accessible for customers.
