Mayfair Hotels & Resorts is set to begin construction of a resort and convention centre at Annavaram village, near Visakhapatnam, following approval from the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet.
This will be the first hospitality project in proximity to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport. The state government has allocated 40 acres of land on a lease basis for the Rs 400 crore project. Former Union Minister and Mayfair Group Chairman Dilip Ray stated, “We will complete the development of the prestigious project in a phased manner, in which the first phase is expected to be completed within two years.”
The development is expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment, boosting the region’s socioeconomic growth. Unlike conventional apartment-style hotels, the resort will feature individual luxury units designed to offer world-class infrastructure and comfort to visitors.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expedited the land allotment and clearances to ensure swift project initiation. To streamline administration and funding, Mayfair has restructured the project under a newly incorporated entity, "MAYFAIR Hotels & Resorts (Vizag)," while retaining "MAYFAIR Hotels & Resorts" as a shareholder.
