1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

MbPT offshore container terminal: 12 bids received

Mumbai Port Trust has received twelve requests for qualification (RFQs) from Indian and foreign companies for its offshore container terminal project.

The companies concerned are:

  • P&O Ports Pvt Ltd
  • Larsen & Toubro
  • Dubai Ports International
  • Evergreen Marine Corporation
  • Adani Exports Ltd
  • Hutchison Ports Holding
  • AP Moller
  • ABG Heavy Industries (with IL&FS)
  • United Liners Agencies (with HHLA Container Terminal GMbH)
  • Mitsui OSK Lines
  • Gammon India (with Dragodos SPL, Italy)
  • Casby Logistics

Meanwhile, the cost of the project has also gone up from the earlier estimated Rs.958 crore to Rs.1,197 crore following a change in project scope, resulting from suggestions received during the pre-bid meeting. MbPT is planning to have two approach roads for entry and exit, besides having more back-up area and equipment for the container terminal.

It might be recalled that bids were invited in November 2004 and the last date for submission was extended twice, finally up to 11 March 2005.
