Global Health, widely known as 'Medanta', has announced its strategic expansion into the North East with the development of super specialty hospital in Guwahati, Assam. This significant move marks Medanta’s first foray into the region, aiming to transform the local healthcare landscape and bring world-class medical services closer to millions of underserved individuals.
The Board of Directors has approved the purchase of three acres of land from Assam Electricity Grid Corporation for Rs 30 crore, excluding incidental costs related to registration and possession. The site, located strategically along National Highway 27, ensures excellent connectivity across the North East, enhancing accessibility for patients from Assam and neighbouring states. The total investment in this upcoming 400-bed super specialty hospital is projected at approx. Rs 500 crore, including the land acquisition cost.
The facility will offer comprehensive care across more than 20 super specialties, featuring advanced medical technology, transplant services, and robotic surgery capabilities. With this project, Medanta aims to serve over 50 million people in the region, significantly strengthening the area’s healthcare infrastructure.This project underscores Medanta’s continued commitment to expanding its footprint and delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare across India.
