As the Uttar Pradesh state government is stepping up efforts to attract industrial investment through a comprehensive land bank, the government has identified and mapped both private and public lands. In Meerut's Sardhana tehsil, 83 acres of government land in villages of Khiwai and Khedi Kala has been identified for industrial development.
Key industrial corridors are being developed along six expressways to enhance connectivity for businesses, and currently, a total of 12,513 acres of government land for industrial use as been earmarked.
Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will oversee the development of industrial zones on government land. Under the Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy, the creation of land banks is faciliaited to attract large-scale investments.
UPSIDA has been instructed to make the marked land available to investors, enabling rapid industrial growth, and this initiative aligns with the government’s goal of promoting industrialisation and creating work opportunities across Uttar Pradesh.
The identified government land across Uttar Pradesh has been categorised based on parcel size of parcels over 100 acres as 2,842 acres; parcels between 50 and 100 acres with 2,688 acres; and parcels between 15 and 50 acres as 6,983 acres.
