Minda Corporation has announced a joint venture with Japanese company Toyodenso Co. to manufacture advanced automotive switches for the Indian market. The partnership aims to deliver comprehensive solutions encompassing design, development, manufacturing, and marketing of switches for two-wheelers, passenger cars, and other automotive segments in India.
As part of the agreement, Minda Corporation will hold a majority 60 percent stake in the new entity, while Toyodenso will hold 40 percent. A state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will be established in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with operations slated to begin in the second half of FY 2026-27.
Commenting on the partnership, Ashok Minda, Chairman and Group CEO of Minda Corporation, said, "This partnership marks a pivotal milestone in our journey to drive smart mobility solutions, while fostering indigenous manufacturing by integrating globally recognised technologies into India's automotive ecosystem".
Toyodenso President Kiyoshi Koide stated the firm is focused on stabilising its business base and expanding in India’s growing automotive market by collaborating with Minda Corp on manufacturing and sales.
